Prior to this mushroom test, purity/potency of psilocybin mushrooms was essentially impossible to quantify with a rapid test. The potency of magic mushrooms varies widely between different species, and different batches of the same species. With our Psilocybin Mushroom Potency/Purity Test, the concentration psilocybin of in dried mushroom materials (mycelium, fruiting bodies, or sclerotia “truffles”) can be determined easily and precisely.
- Easily find out how strong your mushroom is
- Works with any species of mushroom, as long as they are dried out
- Results can be viewed within 30 minutes
- The only quantitative psilocybin mushroom test on the market
- Includes 1 x psilocybin mushroom potency test
The vials indicate colors of different concentrations of psilocybin. From left to right the concentrations are:
2 mg (0.2%) | 4 mg (0.4%) | 6 mg (0.6%) | 8 mg (0.8%) | 12 mg (1.2%) | 15 mg (1.5%) | 18 mg (1.8%) | 21 mg (2.1%) | 24 mg (2.4%) |

Important mote: Psilocybin mushroom purity testing in this context refers to the concentration of psilocybin in a sample. Purity doesn’t mean your sample is free of cuts or impurities.
Magic Mushroom Potency Test FAQ
Can I also test fresh fungal material with the test kit?
No. This psilocybin test is designed for use with dried fungal materials (e.g. mycelium, fruiting bodies, sclerotia “truffles”). Fresh mushroom material contains a very high and fluctuating water content, which would interfere with the determination by the rapid test.
Does the Mushroom Test also work for extracts?
In addition to the application on dried fungal material, the rapid test shows equally reliable results for most solvent-free extracts.
Does the test also indicate the psilocin content?
This test quantifies the total alkaloid content (psilocybin + psilocin) and gives the added values in the form of a total concentration of psilocybin.
The background for this is that only the very stable active ingredient psilocybin is naturally present in healthy fungal tissue. If not properly dried and stored, the prodrug psilocybin degrades to the less stable psilocin, which is the actual pharmacological active ingredient. Even if this occurs, this mushroom test will give you information about the total amount of both alkaloids. For simplicity, we the value is given in terms of the well-known alkaloid psilocybin.
How much material do I need for the test?
You only need 150 mg of a ground up mushroom. It’s best to measure it out with a milligram digital scale.

No drug (whether legal or illegal) is completely safe, we recommend avoiding all recreational drug use.
